The Valiant Zelda Comics, released in 1990 were a series of comics that were very roughly based around The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link; however, they also contained the odd helpful hint for people of the time, such as a shopping guide and a way to stay safe. These comics were authorised by Nintendo and have Nintendo in big letters across the top of each comic. Although there only seven editions at the moment available for download.

It is not well known to all, but the Valiant Comics were also re-released in 1991-1992 by the Valiant Entertainment company, later bought by Acclaim, with differing cover artwork and a few minor changes with storyline and context. Which would explain why there is often more than one version of each addition floating around on the Internet. Although it has been rumoured that there are more, they seem to have fallen prey to what is time.

The comics themselves really aren�t that bad, aside from the odd very cheesy line the comics are a solid contribution to the Zelda Merchandise world, which really seems to be ever shrinking. Which is a great shame. Although the quality of some of the drawings may shock you, and the colours of the hair is also a big shock. I remember when I first saw this; I expected to see blonde, and a lot of it.
